Adopt A Position

We all love Gettysburg National Military Park and they have an awesome program that you can participate in that helps keep our beautiful park beautiful. It’s called “Adopt-A-Position.”  Contact the National Park Service for more details.

Addressing Gettysburg has adopted three positions on behalf of our listeners and followers: the 59th NY, 69th PA and 111th NY.

Twice a year, we organize our “clean-ups”. While we don’t actually clean the monuments, we are responsible for clearing the area of any trash, leaves, branches, weeds, saplings, etc. In typical Addressing Gettysburg fashion, however, we don’t just do “yardwork”.  In addition to all that, we start each clean up with a tour lead by a park ranger, guide or special guest. Our first year doing this, 2019, we walked the path of Garnett’s Brigade with Ranger Matt Atkinson in the lead in April and learned about the 69th Pa’s role in the repulse of Pickett’s Division with Scott Hartwig.
