The casual student of the Battle of Gettysburg may not realize that the famous battle was only the climax of a campaign that lasted over a month. While armies moved north on their collision course from Virginia to Pennsylvania, elements of the overall forces clashed at various points. Below is a list of those battles and skirmishes.
